love letter

Smokin'
I am a horseshoe crab and I want to snuggle with your face, run my pincers across your brow, your eyelids, touch my mouth to yours, as you gently caress my carapace, fingers circling my compound eyes as my various other simple eyes, scattered about on my body, take you in. New looking at ancient looking at new. A real May-December affair of evolutionary proportions!

Please don't recoil from my affections--I know you see in me my distant cousins, the spiders and scorpions, but I am neither, and I have done so much for you already. All I want is your love, your kisses, your soft flesh against me.

All my love,

Limulus polyphemus
